Lara Aboukhaled – Is a Lebanese artist with some Turkish and Syrian blood as well. With a degree in Fine Arts at ALBA in Beirut as well as in UK at Central Saint Martins College of Art. To widen her creative prospects she also studied 3D Modeling and Animation at LCC in UK, however her main Passion remains painting. Art to her is the fairest escape, because the artist takes the time to create his own doorway. What triggers art can be beautiful or, a balance between good and bad, an inner and/or outer fight to get closer to the hope of the existence of a soulful kingdom within the realm and pillars of reality. The painted colors make an invisible feeling not visible alive. “To me, painting expresses a thirst for things that only God will ever be able to offer humanity, Love being the major one and it drives all the way through the accomplishment of my final Piece.”
Haafiza Syed – Haafiza Sayed’ s work of art is basically a spiritual quest that weaves through her personal, as well as the feminist and socio-political tapestry of contemporary life. Most of her paintings are reflective, and express her inner journeys and state of mind. By applying a poetic and often metaphorical language, She wants to amplify the wonder of the viewer by creating compositions or settings that generate tranquil poetic images that leave traces of balance on the edge of recognition and alienation. She likes to explore the concept of landscape in a nostalgic way, yet sometimes her works go beyond the recognizable form, resulting in its interpretation becoming multi-layered ; she finds her art often traversing between the spiritual and the surreal world. In almost all of her work there is an attempt to explore the emotional and mental spheres of human existence. Nature, in its undisguised form is also a major source of her inspiration. She has regularly been exhibiting her work in various exhibitions in UAE, her works have also prominently featured on International Museum of Women’s websites and exhibitions and has got her global recognition.
Karolina Nowak-Konieczna – Is an Art historian and painter, held exhibitions in Poland and Germany, currently her works are shown in several galleries. The works depict stories of contemplative character, dream-like states, full of metaphors, emotion, not easy to decipher. The painted images are created through a meticulous process and the finer details are comprised of small dots. Karolina’s paintings are made for those who are searching for something more in art than only a faithful depiction of reality.
Shivani Mathur – is a wonderfully talented young artist from Delhi, India who currently lives in Dubai, UAE. Shivani’s paintings have a life of their own. They are rich, vivid, elegant and mystical. She has created a niche for herself in the discipline of oil painting. Shivani’s brushstrokes have a languid appeal to them. Lavish use of bright color hues in many of her paintings has a breath-taking effect on the observer. In many of her works, Shivani pays tribute to the feminine form, be it in the shape of a woman or Mother Nature. The figures appear as if they know the secret of the universe and are swaying to it in delight! She manages to serenade her paintings and such magic effect is possible only when an artist is completely in sync with herself. Several of her paintings have a potent message; she subtly uses a riot of colors and definite brushstrokes to convey her point of view. Little Shivani was besotted with the world of painting and related art forms. Her aspiration and flair were gladly encouraged by her family. Through her school days she earned umpteen accolades for her work. She followed her dreams and obtained a Master degree in Arts with specialization in ‘Oil Painting’ under the able guidance of her Professor and renowned contemporary Indian artist Mr. Ashwini Kumar Sharma. “Shivani enjoys creating vibrant artworks with lavish use of colors and sweeping brush strokes. In contrast to the bold expressions to canvas, Shivani comes across as a quiet artist who’d rather let her works do the talking.” – Source, ‘Young & Trendy’ a magazine published from Dubai Media City.

Sanjay Thapar – Graduate of JJ School of Arts, with 4 gold medals – Exhibited around the world and is one of the most promising young talents – His method of working is unique – Sharp Nails and Plastic Credit Cards replace brushes on his Canvas. In The Artist’s own words: “How does it feel to have 10 heads? Would our impressions of life be any different than they already are? It may amuse you to know that I am in a unique position to answer that! Yes, 10 heads is possible and yes it alters your perception of the world. Often enough, I have tried to climb into people’s heads. It’s then that you realise that the most common face you look through across the street has something most uncommon about it. And boy, is there a better joy than your brush transferring those moments across the canvas? To me, that’s life in its purest form. When I graduated out of JJ School of Arts as a bright eyed lad, with 4 gold medals to take on the world, little did I know that the world is a much wider canvas than advertising. One learns everywhere.
And like they say, there are no good experiences and bad experiences; there are just experiences. When you realise that, you are at peace with yourself. Expression then is natural, uncluttered almost divine. The most natural form of expression then came to be brush on walls. Unadulterated joy has no guidelines; no limits; except those imposed by mansion owners who insist on leaving their walls intact when I change dwellings. And thus with trepidation and reluctance, my brush graduated into canvas.
Like every other person who has held a brush, I seek to express a world beyond the confines of the physical canvas. What you see here is not defined by right and wrong. On my canvas, pain and pleasure are not opposite ends of the spectrum. They coexist. In fact, one doesn’t exist without the other. I hope you see that and celebrate it. Like I do.”
Prashant Bhatia- My name is Prashant Bhatia and I am from Delhi, India. All my friends call me PRASH. Right from childhood I had keen interest in painting and sketching as my dad was a hobby painter. He use to make big oil paintings that use to fascinate me a lot and from there I got inspired and started drawing. I seriously took interest when I was in 8thGrade and decided to have my own style. I love Black n White tone and thought of continuing in that only till now.
My main style of work includes charcoal portraits, landscapes, and abstracts. I always love to try new style and that’s why I started from drawing and sketching and then moved into ink paintings and then finally developed my own style of Black and White charcoal art on frame canvas. My art is about my inner feelings, my inner happiness and it’s about finding a beauty even without colors. Through my art work I try to show different expressions of life.

When words are not enough to express certain emotions I try to show it through my art. My art reflects vibrant emotions of love, romance, peace and tranquility with a touch of spirituality”
Safiya Al Shaibani – Safiya is a Dubai-based artist whose powerful abstract paintings emphasize on positive emotions, as her talent mostly reveals itself when she is happy and blissful. Her diverse and moving projects reflect a wide range of feelings though. Resisting categorization, Safiya’s work is responding to her personal affect, while giving rhythm to shapes and exploring perspectives. She makes marks of depth and height, trying to reveal the essence of colors and materialize the softness and intensity of her soul. Spontaneously, she creates forms and surfaces that evoke her memories, including those of her childhood in Oman.
Many other influences inspire her work, starting with her four children, and she paints intuitively. She is not illustrating her feelings; she is giving an interpretation of her thoughts, creating a mood and atmosphere. The viewers of her paintings are voluntarily left to put together the clues, becoming the best ambassadors of the message behind the paintings.

In her own words: “My life is my canvas and my paintings reflect my personality, inspiration and passion for the culture and heritage of UAE.Art has always been a huge part of my life. For as long as I discovered my ability to draw I have been engaged in art. I encouraged my 3 children from an early age to draw and appreciate art and had great fun doing ” Arty” things with them when they were younger. Two of them are talented drawers and can produce beautiful art works.
For me having this opportunity to live in Dubai and experience a different culture has excited and inspired me to further develop my art works. My paintings share with you this experience and invite you to enjoy the experience too.
Painting requires energy, focus and commitment and many hours are spent on each painting. Every line, brushstroke comes right from the heart and is meaningful and purposeful. Life without Art would be dull ! Colour, texture, pattern and composition evoke feelings in us and remind us of feelings- perhaps of an idyllic time. We experience emotions when we look at art and our emotional feelings are often heightened. For me this is an idyllic time and since arriving in Dubai my paintings have become more vibrant and vivid. The colours in the landscape are warm and contrasting very different from back home in Scotland.”
