A locally produced TV show by Woman2Woman on Selfie TV Online Channel. Show offers relevant topics and encourages discussions of issues which are relatable to men and women.
This week’s topic focused on our addiction to technology, I coined the phrase Ipad – since each ipad is unique thanks to the imprints of their owner- their likes, dislikes, their obsessions and their passions all saved in one device. When you have an ipad – who needs friends – you can enjoy your own company as long as there is good wifi.
When your device becomes an extension to your being – that’s when I wonder if we can survive without wifi?
But is this generation really addicted?
For this episode it was important to have opinions from our teen demographic; which is so engrossed in devices that it really has become part of their personality of sorts.
Yasmina Alidodova, gave a refreshing and honest account of what wifi means to her generation. She cant even remember when the internet wasn’t so readily available; being a millennial connectivity and devices are an integral part of her daily life and as far as socializing goes, in her age group its very acceptable to be on phones and we (as in adults) should “Just deal with it!”
Cyrus Mehta, is probably one of the few people who finds solace and peace in disconnecting once in a while. He stressed on keeping a balance and moderation on wifi usage. Something that really stuck a chord with me was when he said, “Use it and don’t abuse it!”
Ross Jonathan, a photographer for an online website is constantly required to be connected and really doesn’t find it an addiction but more of a change that we all have to accept. He stresses on manners especially in social gatherings, he does find it rude and offensive to be looking at ones phone in the middle of a conversation. It would be nice just to eat a hot meal as it arrives to our table; rather than clicking hundreds of pictures of it to post online and letting it get cold.
In conclusion, I found it interesting to learn, that this is a change that we have to learn to accept but having said that, striking the right balance and not forgetting table / social manners is also important!

Coffee Confessions Concept:
The show is produced to encourage open forum of discussion and opinions being shared on a common platform. The idea is to be as relevant to our community as possible; therefore the topics selected are vital to this new age show. Each Topic will invite 3 guests to offer their advice, opinion or just their thoughts to the audience. The audience will also be able to communicate, interact, offer opinion and suggest further topics to the online show. These are some of the great benefits of hosting an online since we can be highly accessible, creative & interactive with our real time audience – the reach and connection on a Web channel is far more rewarding & affordable than on a TV channel.
