Coffee Confessions Episode 6: Is your true love, online?

One of the trademarks of this generation will be an app for everything. Whether its to find the best place to dine, or get a taxi, or track our bills we are using apps constantly so it should come as no surprise that there are apps now to find love.

At one point in our lives, we all have been registered on a site (for matrimonial) or been recommended apps that can connect us to other people online that somehow has become close to impossible in the real time.

We wanted to hear the pros and cons people face when they are festering relationships online verses in IRL (In real life).

Here are some of the points our guests raised at the show:

Rohika Kataky – She explained that online dating can be what you want it to be; there are no set rules and one is free to express, disclose and interact in their own comfort zone. She is quiet open to using the apps and websites, according to her “The biggest disadvantage is people can be very dishonest, I mean I have found married people online looking to date.”

Zille Rehman – He brought up a very different perspective to online dating, even though he hasn’t used much of the online dating apps. He believes that its better for girls to be online verses in real life, according to him, “I think that if a guy is outgoing and forward in real life, its not looked upon as an issue but if a girl has the same attitude she is judged and her character is questioned.”

Anand Kumar – he believes that online dating is the way forward, mostly because of time constraints with work, its difficult to meet people socially and online dating sites offer an opportunity to interact with prospective partners. “Even though I don’t mind meeting people online, I still believe that the old school way to meeting a person in real life is more appealing.”

The audience will also be able to communicate, interact, offer opinion and suggest further topics to the online show. These are some of the great benefits of hosting an online since we can be highly accessible, creative & interactive with our real time audience – the reach and connection on a Web channel is far more rewarding & affordable than on a TV channel.
