International Watercolor Society spreads Happiness with Watercolors in UAE

 IWS’s annual watercolor festival from 22nd – 25th of February 2018

 (IWS) International Watercolor Society in collaboration with the Cartoon Art Gallery will be hosting a 4 day Watercolor Festival in UAE from 22nd till 25th of February followed by 4 day painting tour from 26th February to 1st of March 2018. This will be the region’s largest Art Festival dedicated to Water Colors. It will be the only one of its kind International Festival with More than 600 Artists from 50 countries. The International Watercolor Society has branches in 90 Countries and over 4 million social media reach. At the Dubai event, we expect more than 100 International Artist visiting Dubai, over 300 Artworks have been selected internationally for exhibition and participation of 100 Art teachers of UAE.

The Watercolor Festival starts on the 22nd of February at the American University of Dubai with live Watercolor demonstration by International Artist at 2:00 pm, including demonstrations by Masters at 3:00 pm, demonstration by Celebrity Master, Alvaro Castagnet at 4pm and concluding with the Inauguration ceremony at 5:00pm leading to an exhibition at the Cartoon Art Gallery and ending with a Gala dinner On 23rd of February the second day of the festival, artists are invited to join plein Air at Al Fahidi Historic District .On 24th of February the 3rd day, artists will be invited to take part in a Plein Air session at Deira Spice and at 3pm join IWS to paint and create the Longest Watercolor Painting of UAE . On 25th of February the fourth day of the festival, artists will head to Dubai Marina, for a Plein Air session, followed by a lunch at Dar El Kamar, along with live demonstrations by visiting Masters at the Cartoon Art Gallery ending the evening with the closing ceremony.

The Master Artists coming to the festival include the worlds number one watercolorist, Alvaro Castagnet, Atanur Dogan, Amit Kapoor, Agus Buditanto, Dr. Amer Hassan, Lafe, Nader Mohazabnia, Besnik Xhemaili Ali Sajid, Jansen Chow, Kauser Hossain Masud, Helidon, , Alexandrya Bryksa, Mohammed A Wahab, Selama Todorova ,Galina Gomzina Vikrant Shitole, Sadhu Aliyur, GN Madhu, Faisal Abdul Qader Al Bastaki ,Fatma Al Hamadi, Anna Galea ,Bonny Mathew, are a few names coming to the IWS Watercolor Festival in the UAE.

“Alice in Wonderland” raises AED 75,000 for Cancer Research  


140 Ballet Centre students performed on Friday the 19th of January 2018 at DUCTAC theatre, the proceeds from the show were donated to Al Jalila Foundation

“Alice in Wonderland” a beautiful rendition by the Ballet Centre’s students on stage this Friday the 19th of January raised 75,000 Dirhams for Cancer Research and was donated generously by Mangalika Jayalath – The MD of the Ballet Centre to Al Jalila Foundation.


Mangalika Jayalath – The Managing Director of the Ballet Centre, says “This was a very intense show, the students had been training for 18 weeks and we had a mission to raise awareness and funds about Cancer research, which we successfully managed, thanks to the hardwork of the Ballet Centres team & students. The two shows, were packed on Friday and when I saw some of the audiences teary eyed, I knew we had done our job!”


Alice in wonderland was the Ballet Centre’s biennial production that displayed the talent of amazing young dancers in a world class Ballet production.

“12th Edition of SNF’s Family Fun Fair”

SNF’s Family Fun Fair on 26th of January 2018 – Creating Awareness about Special Needs in the UAE

Special Needs Future (SNF) Development Center hosts its 12th edition of Family Fun Fair in collaboration with Universal American School on Friday the 26th of January from 10:30am till 8:00pm. The event is managed my Plan B. This partnership is set to provide a platform to both the special needs community and the mainstream society to come together to promote the spirit of giving, diversity and social inclusion.

Mehnaz Ahmed – General Manager of SNF says, “This event welcomes & encourages families to come together for an all-inclusive family fun day that offers a positive environment to connect with special needs families and the mainstream society.”


This year the family fair will have something for every family member to enjoy, for foodies, there is a variety of food stalls including Russo’s Pizzeria, Fun foods, Hawaiin Snow, Gelato, Kulfilicious & more; there is also Posh Paws setting up a petting zoo; a real treat for animal lovers; creating an inviting ambiance is Dubai Drums (Unity through Rhythm); for the dancers in the family there is a special dance competition themed “Happiness” for kids aged between 10yrs to 14yrs, School participating in this dance competition include, Dubai Scholars Private SchoolDPS DubaiDPS SharjahGulf Indian High SchoolIHSJSS Private School & UIP School. For the reading enthusiasts, there are several children authors from the Emirates Literature Festival, like Rachel Hamilton, Dedra Stevenson, Michele Ziolkowski, Stacey Sudlow, Meetali Khanna, Diala Arslan, John & Heinke Felton visiting the event; one of the highlights of this event also includes HAWKS- Dubai Chapter Harley Bike Riders along with Bargain stalls and Kids fun corner.


To continuously inspire and create awareness about special needs, there will be Dubai Superheroes at the event, and they have made it their mission to help reintroduce hope to children who have faced any form of hardship in their lives, empower them to be the best versions of themselves and inspire them to be superheroes in their own communities, and what better way to do so than through their favorite superheroes and cartoon characters!

A therapeutic Art Exhibition at Bourn Hall Fertility Centre by Nahida Beshara  



Art Exhibition opening on the 22nd of January 2018 at the Bourn Hall Fertility Centre

(DIAC) Dubai international Art Centre in collaboration with the Bourn Hall Fertility Centre will be hosting the Art works of renowned Lebanese Artist Nahida Beshara for a month, the exhibition opens on 22nd of January and is open to the public; the soothing artworks will be displayed throughout the clinic.
