Gallery 76 at the Dubai International Art Centre presents The Forest of the Mind, a solo exhibition by the Costa Rican artist, Javier Martén. The award-wining artist is also a landscape architect who constantly draws inspiration for his work from his natural environment. Javier’s work is a ceremonial model with the biomorphic twists of nature, a necessary induction to immersion in color, lines and concentric whirls. Opening ceremony will be held on 24th of April at 6:30pm at Gallery 76 and the exhibition will be held till 1st of May 2018.
Javier Martén explains, “I paint biomorphic shapes that feel alive as if they were moving on the canvas. I sense the rainforest, its sounds of the wind blowing over rivers and ocean and lake waves. My style routes to freedom, it can relate to several different concepts. I am inspired by the rainforests of Costa Rica, the oceans, rivers and all of nature as I carry it on my veins since I was a child since I was born surrounded by a rich natural environment. Colors of the world, and the synesthetic sounds, movements and aromas that produce nature are the soul of my artworks.”
Gallery 76 will be displaying the solo artworks of Javier’s from 24th of April till 1st of May. It is open to all art & nature lovers in the region.
