The exhibition is open from 20th till 28th of June at Gallery 76 in Dubai International Art Centre.
Get lit will be featuring the artworks 23 Artists & photographers including Afshan Quraishi, Amal Mahmoud, Kim Oberoi, Priyanka Vijayan, Saima Hasan, Hashim Mohammed, Minika S.K., Sophia Florian, Kavitha Murali Sundar, Sudha Karthik, Meetu Garg, Jacklyn M. Evangelista, Varsha Sureka, Felsa Marie Barut, Laitu AP, Ruba Badwan, Tayyaba Aziz, Gwyneth Rasquinha, Nayma Yasir, Sabeen Ikram, Shiba Khan and last but not the least Tara Kaur Siali AKA Tara who is our youngest artist at age of 2 and a half years old.
“As a young mother who is also an Artist it was very natural for me to place a paint brush in Tara’s hands rather than an Ipad, we started painting together, experimenting with colors, shapes and creating artworks out of chaos. When w2w posted about the event, I sent across a painting that was done by Tara and myself; I was thrilled that they wanted to exhibit the Artwork and said that art is not defined by age; it goes to show that this exhibition is “Lit” says Kim Oberoi (Tara’s mom)
The concept for “Get Lit” is inspired by “Millennials” a generation who are defined by technology and often labeled as lazy and unfocused. This show aims to break those stereotypes and shed light on their creative & enterprising side, by offering a platform for them to voice their opinions through art. The art works reflect the millennial ability to constantly re create, innovate and frequently push boundaries of “norm”. “Get Lit” celebrates the misfits, the globetrotters, the explorers, the creators, the eco warriors and the change makers of the community. The show is open to the public, starting on 20th till 28th of June at Gallery 76 in Dubai International Art Centre.
