The final day of the Conference on 29th of October began with a Keynote address by Cate Trotter – Head of trends from Insider Trends, discussing about the latest retail trends in action and learning to solve your retail business problems with the latest thinking and technology, Cate has worked with brands such as IKEA, Nike, Chanel and Galeries Lafayette; the day progressed with a panel discussion on “The Future of Outlet Malls in the Region” by Avijit Yadav – CEO of Tamdeen Group & Avi Alkas – Country Chairman leading to an interactive panel discussion on “Alternative Project Financing Opportunities – MENA Region – American Franchise Export Service” by David Blair – Global CEO of Fitch, David Junk – Afes and Robert Junk – Afes; next on stage was by Wail Balkhair – CEO of Sahat Group discussing “New Retail in Makkah – a new niche in retail real estate has been created in Makkah” and wrapping up the conference were Cate Trotter – Head of Insider Trends & Baiju Kurieash – CEO & MD of Buz Management and Marketing Consultant discussed the “Rethinking Marketing Strategies in the Retail and Shopping Centre Industry”.

“Salam” a documentary on the Nobel prize winning Pakistani physicist, Abdus Salam screens in Dubai, UAE

“Salam” – Film Screening & Panel Discussion at Novo Cinemas Ibn Battuta Mall on 30th of October at 8:00pm

Poetic Strokes is set to host the much anticipated film screening and panel discussion of “Salam” on Wednesday 30th of October at the Novo Cinema’s in Ibn Batutta Mall, Dubai. Salam is a feature length documentary about Pakistan’s great forgotten genius: Nobel Prize winning physicist, Abdus Salam. Directed by Anand Kamalakar and produced by Zakir Thaver and Omar Vandal.

Salam reveals the extraordinary life and charismatic personality of Abdus Salam. Born in 1926 in a remote village in Punjab where he grew up in a humble, small brick house, Salam was a child prodigy who through sheer perseverance and intelligence, rapidly rose to prominence against all the odds. In 1979, Salam’s ground-breaking contribution to the field of theoretical physics was recognized when he became the first Muslim scientist to win the prestigious Nobel Prize.

#EveryGirlCan inspiring & engaging young girls through fitness!

EVERYGIRLCAN has teamed up with some of UAE’s most celebrated athletes to run three events as part of Dubai Fitness Challenge to provide young girls the opportunity to feel empowered through the enjoyment of physical activity.

All the events are Free to register; girls aged 6yrs to 15yrs are welcomed to participate. The three events are scheduled to provide, Training with Athlete, Group activities with other participants, Inspiring workshops and meet & greet with mentors.

The first event was on Saturday 19th of October with International Figure Skater Zahra Lari at the Dubai Mall Ice Rink. The second event is to train with the Nike Master Trainer Jade Palmer at the Dubai Festival City on Saturday 26th of October and the third event is an opportunity to swim with the UAE’s first female Olympic Swimmer Nada AL Bedwawi at the Hamdan Sports Complex on Friday the 15th of November.

Every Girl Can is lead by sporting athletes and ambassadors inspiring the next generation of girls across the UAE by sharing their own stories, their fall and rise and what it takes to make things happen. These unique events will introduce the girls to athletes, fitness experts and mentors; ensuring that this experience is a life changing one, for all who participate.

The Water that crosses the oceans a 4 country traveling watercolor exhibition comes to the UAE in October!

A unique group exhibition comes to the UAE, ‘The Water That Crosses The Oceans’ – the Four Countries Traveling Watercolor Exhibition is reaching to ‘The Land Of Tolerance’ – UAE from 26th till the 29th of October at Gallery 76 in Dubai International Art Centre.

This ambitious exhibition is the brainchild of Anna Massinissa the Director and Curator of FabrianoInAcquarello from Fabriano, the exhibition’s journey began in Brazil, then successfully crossed India and now in October the show comes to the UAE, with the guidance and efforts of Atul Panase the leader for UAE Team of watercolorists for FabrianoInAcquarello since 2016; once the UAE show is wrapped up, this great exhibition’s final destination will be Italy, where it was originally conceptualized.

This UAE exhibition is going to showcase more 100 watercolor works from many world famous masters including, Bijay Biswaal, Milind Mulick and Prafull Sawant from India; Lílian W. F. Vitral Arbex & Maria Inês Lukacs from Brazil and Massimiliano Iocco, Gabriele Mazzara, Ekaterina Sava & Igor Sava from Italy are represented in the exhibit, along with the talented UAE based water colorists Krishnakanth Samavedam,  Sanja Jankovic, Biswarupa Mohanty, Diyali Sen Bhalla , Naem and Atul Panase.

 The first Lebanese woman to summit the Everest, Tima Deryan is set to raise awareness and offer hope to Breast Cancer survivors in the UAE by hosting a hiking event in Wadi Showka this Friday the 18th of October from 8:00am till 1:00pm.

This event is open to the public and completely free to join, visitors can also hear experts who will be sharing their personal experiences battling the fatal disease; speaking sessions will be conducted by two-time breast cancer survivor, Tania Abiad; a male breast cancer survivor Max Fardan & Dr. Tamer Fady who is a consultant Breast Surgeon.
